About Debbie Jamsa

For as long as she can remember, Debbie Jamsa has loved horses. Today, Debbie is living her dreams as the owner and head trainer of Happy’s Dream Ranch. The ranch is named after Happy, the Jamsa’s Dalmatian, whom, when Debbie watched him run in his sleep, proclaimed he was “dreaming of owning a ranch.” Not long after that, Kris and Debbie built the first “Happy’s Dream Ranch” in Houston, Texas.

Soon after that, Debbie began her teaching career after another trainer asked if she would be interested in helping with her students. Debbie quickly realized that her love and passion for horses was not just for riding, but it was to also share those values with others. Debbie immediately fell in love with teaching. After moving to Arizona, she continued to teach and studied to expand her riding and education. Debbie received certification through the American Riders Instructors Association and was most recently certified with the USHJ Association. In addition, after many years of study, Debbie has been approved by the USEF and granted an ‘r’ Judges License in Hunters and Hunter Equitation She continues to work with and to inspire our students to develop better horsemanship as well as becoming better riders.

The Happy’s Dream Ranch motto: Believe in your dreams and others will believe in you tells much of the Happy’s Dream Ranch story.

Horsemanship Training

Riding a horse can be quite an exhilarating experience…if it’s done right. That’s why Happy’s Dream Ranch teaches its students the fundamentals–such as grooming and tacking a horse–before the rider ever saddles up. But once that happens, a new world is revealed.

Debbie Jamsa of Happy’s Dream Ranch continually gauges each student’s skill level, helping him or her to reach farther, work harder, and truly excel. Because all private lessons are on an one-to-one-to-one basis (that is, instructor to student to equine friend), students are afforded opportunities to grow. And that makes for a fantastic experience.

Happy’s Dream Ranch offers expert instruction for riders of all ages–and at all skill levels, from novice to accomplished rider. Whether for pleasure riding or for competition training, our private lessons maximize skillsets and help you realize your full potential.

History

Highland cows, or "Heilan Coos" as they are affectionately known in Scotland, trace their origins back to the 6th century. Originally from the rugged Highlands and islands of Scotland, they are one of the oldest registered cattle breeds. Their hardiness allowed them to survive and thrive in the unforgiving landscapes of their homeland.
